One letter from Julian Senior to Stanley Kubrick concerning New American Libraries' cover design for rerelease of novel, enclosing one mechanical layout of cover design, two annotated photocopies and coverning letter from New American Libraries.

One original folder labelled 'Stephen King', in Kubricks handwritting, containing correspondence about a special paperback edition of The Shining by Stephan King with an metalic silver cover, also included in a loose proof of the cover.

Three copies of The Shining, 1980. Cover is the original Saul Bass poster image, with advertisement for the film and eight pages of film stills.
Two Japanese (?) copies of The Shining, 1978. Presumably the cover text mentions Kubrick's movie.
One French ('L'Enfant Lumiere') copy of The Shining, 1979. On reverse (roughly translated): 'The Shining will be made into a movie by Stanley Kubrick, the director of "A Clockwork Orange" and "Barry Lyndon".'
One Spanish-language ('Insolito Esplendor') copy of The Shining, 1978. On reverse: 'Soon to be made into a grand new Warner Brothers movie, produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Jack Nicholson and Sh. Duvall.'
One identical one Spanish-language empty book jacket.
One Portuguese copy of The Shining, 1977. Inside jacket says (roughly translated): 'The Shining has been adapted to the big screen by Stanley Kubrick, in cooperation with Warner Brothers, starring Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall.'
One Italian copy of The Shining, 1978. Title is literally 'A Magnificent Celebration of Death'. On reverse (roughly translated): 'A film is being made of The Shining soon showing in Italy, directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Jack Nicholson.'
One Swedish dummy copy of The Shining; binding is complete but interior of book is blank. On cover (roughly translated): 'Masterwork of a modern thriller. Filmed by Stanley Kubrick with Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall. Read it if you dare!' Inside book is folded letter to Julian Senior of Warner Brothers indicating that this is a dummy of the Swedish version of the book, which will be released to coincide with the Swedish opening of the film.
