| Description | This folder contains material on the exhibition, ‘Family, Fantasy and Photography: A photographic exhibition by The Pollysnappers (Mary Ann Kennedy, Jane Munro, Charlotte Pembrey [?sp Pembury/Pembrey], Jo Spence)’.
It includes a poster for the exhibition has held at Leeds Pavilion, 7-31 Mar [1987]; The exhibition information sheet includes a statement dated 1981, 'This exhibition was made by a group of four students on a photo arts degree course at the Polytechnic of Central London, as our third-year project...'.
An information sheet about the touring version of the exhibition (undated), states, ‘[the exhibition] is an attempt to make explicit certain connections between professional practices in photography (forms of encoding and mediation) and ways in which photographs are viewed (their use), whilst centring upon ways in which "the family" is visually represented...'. The info sheet ends, 'The exhibition will be on show again from 1st October for four weeks at Cockpit Gallery, Cockpit Annexe... after which it is available for hire/loan'. |
