Description | Half-frame 35mm pre-production colour slides for research from Houston. Houston is one of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) centres Langley Research Centre the oldest of NASA's field centers is located in Hampton, Virginia, and focuses primarily on aeronautical research. The home of Mission Control and space flight programme is NASA Houston although Langley was the intial home of the first astronauts.
The slides were stored in a box marked Houston. The slides are grouped and titled Drum one to five show interior and exterior shots. Rooms and corridors with detailing of lighting, desks, consoles, theatre seating and conference room. Extra groupings referred to as miscellaneous interiors, instumentation and lighting and desk tops these groupings are not identified as coming from a drum. [The 'drums' referred to are most likely the carousel holders used in the slide projector.]
Date impressed on slide mount April 1965.
[These slides are probably research for the designing of sets in the Space Station 5 and the Conference Room on the moonbase.]
