There are 28 photographic prints, credited on the back to Henry Grant, many with annotations. Many are new prints from 1950s negatives. The images include children and young people from the 1950s and 1960s. Including themes on school, immigration, free time, fashions and subcultures.
The prints include the image used on the exhibition poster, of Teddy boys in Piccadilly Circus.
The file contains 3 copies of the exhibition poster. The exhibition poster notes that it was produced by the Department of Cultural Studies with Henry & Rose Grant. It also details that the project was financially assisted by the Greater London Arts Association and the GLC. The file also contains an exhibition press release, press cuttings and photocopies of the exhibition comments book.
Also included are biographical notes on Henry and Rose Grant, and a leaflet for another exhibition of Henry Grant's: 'Towards Tomorrow: Children and Young People In and Out of School,' shown 1984-1985 at the Church Farm House Museum, Hendon, London. |
