[Yudkin was a consultant paediatrician and founder of the National Council for the Defence of Children, later known as the Council for Children's Welfare. The Council for Childre's Welfare founded the Comics Campaign Council. Yudkin like St John was a British Communist Party member and served in the Comics Campaign Council.]
