Description'About the Film-Maker: An Interview with Stanley Kubrick by Robert Emmett Ginna'. Kubrick had just finished working on Spartacus and was preparing to film Lolita. This interview took place in Kubrick's house in Beverly Hills but was never published. The file contains the edited interview and Kubrick's corrections where many of the pages were taped together, and it is incomplete. In the interview Kubrick talked about the possible censorship on Lolita; his affinity with Arthur Schnitzler; the making of Spartacus; his film making approaches and views; film writting; audiences; Stanislavsky's books; Broadway; realistic theatre; Mary McCarthy; elements of the story which attracted Kubrick to make Lolita; control in filmmaking; editing films; acting; music in his films; Vittorio De Sica, Ingmar Bergman and Federico Fellini.
