Title | Products selected for use as props |
Description | A selected number of twenty-five black and white photographs which probably were a documentation of a selection of props and commercial products used for set-dressing in 2001. Companies had been approached by Roger Caras on behalf of Stanley Kubrick with a request to design their products of the future with view to using them as props or set-dressing for what is now called 'product placement'. Eleven of the twenty-five photographs have a description of the product, some with dimensions, written in long-hand on the reverse. This selection of twenty-five stills have attached along the right hand edge a length of tape with a two holes punch for inserting into a ring binder file. [Possibly to show MGM or the companies whose products were chosen for set-dressing] The stills from Orion and Aries space crafts show seats and safety belts. The companies featured in stills from Space Station 5 are Pan American, Bell System, Coty, Paris Match, Seabrook, Howard Johnson, Whirlpool, Hilton Hotel, Macy's, Plasbin, Honeywell and USAA.
