Title	British Gas Beckton
Description	The file contains correspondence between Kubrick and Derek V Dutton, Head of Public Relations, North Thames Gas, 20 Mar- 11 Jul 1984 regarding the state of the site during the proposed filming schedule (especially the need for the art departments construction team to operate) in regards to it's ongoing demolition by North Thames Gas for example, a letter from Kubrick to Dutton, 11 Jul 1984, requests that rubble created by the destruction of large smokestacks is left until after filming has finished. There are three letters from Dutton to Kubrick, 4 Jan 1984-20 Nov 1984 tentatively confirming dates, costs and a site visit by Kubrick. There is also a letter from Kubrick to John Gadd, North Thames Gas, 23 Feb 1984, proposing Beckton as a filming location and schedule to start autumn/winter 1984. Attached to the letter from Sir Denis Rooke, Chairman, British Gas to Lord Goodman, Goodman Derrick and Co [solicitors], 6 Feb 1984, referring Kubrick's team to Gadd and a photocopy map of the site. There are handwritten notes relating to the letters on some of them in Kubrick's hand.
