| Description | One box of contact sheets consisting of still photographs taken on the set of the film. The majority of the sheets contain 12 images, some of the images have been marked in black pen with codes some of them are marked with the number of prints to be made and the destination for the prints such as New York.
The images include behind the scenes shots showing cast and crew working or resting, action shots showing scenes from the film as they were being shot and identity shots of the main cast members in costume. There are also images of the cast doing publicity work such as Kirk Douglas in a helicopter [possibly visiting troops near the film set]. Some of the individual images have been cut out from the sheets.
The images are all numbered, each reference number begins with the letters PG. These numbers match the production stills in SK/8/8/2
Images 1-12, 13-24, 25-33, 43-54 and 55-62 have been mounted on a grey background with holes for a ring binder. They feature Kirk Douglas in an office, arriving on an aeroplane and another member of the crew arriving on an aeroplane.
The box also contains enlarged versions of PG 2451 and PG 2452 studio shots of Kirk Douglas in costume, one copy of PG 191 another id shot of Kirk Douglas in a wood in costume along with the negative for the image and 7 copies of PG-3126 Kubrick with a camera and by a crane. |
