Description | This series contains items largely relating to the American Film Institute [AFI], including letters, memos, press cuttings, newsletters, programmes and leaflets, reports and a manual.
[The American Film Institute was founded 1967 to help preserve American film heritage and to help those working in the film industry with their profession. The director of the AFI, George Stevenson, played the leading role of establishing the Center for Advanced Film Studies [AFICAS], the purpose of which was to have programmes to train and educate its fellows in their relevant fields. For this project, Dickinson acted as special advisor in the summer of 1968, co-writing a detailed report on which the Center would be based [see TD/13/4/3/1]. |
