TitleMinistry of Labour Papers
DescriptionThis file contains items relating to the issues that the Ministry of Labour [MOL] wish to address in their propaganda films, including:

a letter to Dickinson from R E Gomme, 13 Jul 1940, regarding the scripts for 'Invisible Army' and 'Mr Any Man', and making comments and suggestions. Gomme also comments on what the films should convey. Attached is a compliments slip, and some of Dickinson's notes, in pencil and typed, listing the issues the film [possibly 'Mr Any Man'] should address, for example the encouragement of semi-skilled workers and the importance of safety;

a circular from the MOL and National Service, 26 Jun 1940, regarding opportunities for full-time employment during the war;

'Ministry of Labour Subjects. Notes', which lists some ideas for potential films addressing issues about workers during wartime. On the back in pencil Dickinson mentions Jean Compton and Jeanne MacIntyre, possibly for consideration to work on a film project;

and, 'Health Hints to Workers', listing advice for good health and safety for workers during wartime.
