DescriptionPictures and photographs of life in the 18th Century. Included are pictures of the German towns of Frankfurt, Soest, Wurzburg, Mainz, Deventer and Zurich and Leipzig as well as copies of the paintings of Moonrise on the Yare and John Constable's Flatford Mill on the River Stour. Also included are William Dyce's painting of the Woman of Samaria along with satirical cartoons on drunkenness and a view from Whitechapel Road. There are also pictures of mills, hunts, social functions and gatherings, race meetings, executions at Tyburn, city street and country scenes, a woman selling oysters, military scenes and weddings, as well as pictures and portraits of historical figures such as Sir Christopher Wren and Lord Nelson.
