TitlePhotographic prints-on set
DescriptionThe photographs show cast and crew during the filming. The majority of them feature Kubrick, some are Kubrick at work and some relaxing on set for example, SK/9/3/1lxxxvi or SK/9/3/1xcii. Kubrick appears relaxed and at ease on the set and with cast and crew. Of note are, SK/9/3/1lxiii that has markings on the recto indicating that a portion be enhanced and enlarged [the enlargement is also present] and SK/9/3/1 that has sketches in Kubrick's hand on the verso. The images also show equipment used and filming methods, such as filming from the top of cranes. In some images Kubrick is dressed in the Spartacoat that himself and Kirk Douglas were marketing as a rival to the poncho [Universal International memo from Stan Margulies [production aide] to Jack Garnara, 10 Apr 1959 and 22 Jun 1959 in the Kirk Douglas Archive]. Black and white and colour.
