TitleBritish Railways advert and booklets
DescriptionThe file contains an advert for a brochure of 'holiday haunts' in the East and North East of England, costing 2 shillings. The text is in black. The image features a sailboat, patches of colour and a stemmed glass that form an abstract multi coloured design. On the verso is an advert [not Eckersly] for Clacton-on-Sea. The are also two information leaflets about Holiday Runabout Tickets with cover designs signed by Eckersley. One for 26 Apr-31 Oct 1959 and one for 29 Apr to 27 Oct 1962. The cover for 1959 features an abstract image of a man as though looking at his profile through a kaleidoscope, he is wearing a hat and his profile is compiled from a shaped block of white. Where the mirror images meet a star of black and green is formed. The background colour is green. The cover for 1962 features an abstract image of a man walking, he wears a hat and is holding a briefcase. The notion of speed is suggested by multiple swinging legs. He is formed from overlapping block colours of red, black and white. The background is white.
