Description1 painting (in 2 parts) and 1 personal statement. The student also provided a digital copy (JPEG) showing the 2 painting halves assembled.

A painting in two parts, a personal statement and a digital copy (JPEG) showing the two painting halves assembled. One part of the painting depicts a pair of feet and ankles in skin tone. The second part of the painting depicts a pair of feet and ankles which appear black, as if in silhouette. A pink ribbon is tied around one foot and intertwined around the toes of another, as if joining the two halves of the painting together. Aishwarya’s written personal statement describes her time studying BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing at London College of Fashion. She describes the experience as “challenging” and “transformative”. She lists a number of challenges and outlines how she overcame them, as well as providing the reader with several tips and strategies. Aishwarya came to the UK from India, to study at aged 18 and had never visited London before. The painted feet on the charcoal background represent Aishwarya’s past, the silhouetted feet in black against the coloured background represent the new experiences Aishwarya’s encountered. Aishwarya reflects on her course and notes she was happy to see students from diverse backgrounds. The pink ribbon in the painting represents the idea of never giving up; Aishwarya graduated with First-Class Honors.
