TitleBabou Faal: Fabric Wall Hanging
DescriptionPatch-work style, mainly canvas, fabric wall hanging with text, images and textiles. The wall hanging consists of twelve patches: two patches of textiles, one of blue denim, pleated, with red zig-zag stitching, and the other a red man-made fabric [possibly nylon], pleated, with blue zig-zag stitching; and, five patches with imprinted images, including three of Babou undertaking textile work, standing with a mannequin with one of his designs, and an animated image of Babou graduating, a patch of a london tube map, and a patch of an animated image of a crowd of people [possibly at a party or music event], the background in red and the drawings in black. The remaining five patches are textual, and describe Babou's experience studying at London College of Fashion, such as entering the course as a successful Compact Scheme candidate, being a newcomer, meeting people form different backgrounds and cultures, gaining study support to assist with his English language skills, travelling around London to the various College sites, and being a first generation University student.
