'Portraits' This series contains a number of black and white photographic prints featuring recognisable individuals. In ‘Portraits Recognised’, (DSS/1/3) a handwritten list is taped to the inside flap of the portfolio – many of the individuals in this list appear here, in ‘Portraits’. The list identifies: ‘Billy Graham, Kate Adie, Quentin Crisp, Ronny Wood, Marvin Gaye, Vikram Seth, Tarkovski, Jacobi, Richard O’Brian, Julian Clarey, Alexei Sayle, Les Patterson, Geoff Capes, Andy Warhol, Derek Jarman, David Hockney.’ Further individuals not included in the list but labelled on the back of their representation include 'Barrie Keefe (writer)', 'Andrew Logan (sculptor)', and 'Mrs. ‘Ascot Hats’ Shilling'.
