Head Casting One plaster cast of Joy's head created by the 2001 make-up department as a trial run for moulding the heads of the mime artists who were to play the hominids (man-apes) in 2001: A Space Odyssey. [The actors faces were cast and then the latex ape masks were made onto the plaster casts so that they fitted the actors properly]. The plaster is white although there is some yellow staining in areas. The nose was broken off by Joy when the cast was being made. [1967?]
