  <dc:description>This sub-fonds contains the archives of the schools and departments that later became or were merged to become part of the London College of Printing which eventually became London College of Communication. The schools are;

London County Council School of Photo-Engraving and Lithography (Bolt Court) previously known as the Guild and Technical School and later and mostly commonly known as Bolt Court Technical School 
St Bride Foundation Printing School 
London School of Printing and Kindred Trades (St Brides), the St Brides Foundation Printing Schools successor, which later became the London School of Printing and Graphic Arts after the LSPKT merged with Bolt Court
College for Distributive Trades as well as records about the Smithfield Institute, which began seperately but later merged with the College of Distributive Trades
North Western Polytechnic Department of Printing merged with LCP thus the materials prior to the merge sit here. 

Within the archives is student work, prospectuses, year books, administrative documentation and a lot of in-house printing. They also comprise books, journals, reports and publications acquired by respective Library departments for the use of their staff and students as well as for teaching purposes.</dc:description>
