  <dc:description>The file contains correspondence between Kubrick, Vladimir and Vera [his wife] Nabokov relating to publicity, showings and the Nabokov's eagerness to seen the film, distribution/release in Europe, the screenplay and the possibility of Lolita being made into a film  [31 Dec 1959], the proposed publication of the screenplay [15 Dec 1965-17 Jan 1966, draft with handwritten corrections by Kubrick and final copy]. There are also letters about the introduction of Nabokov's son [opera singer] to Günther Rennert [chair, Board of Trustees of Glyndebourne Productions Ltd] by Kubrick, see also  SK/10/8/5.

There is also a sheet of handwritten notes by Kubrick on Nabokov's writing style and a draft memo regarding Nabokov doing a screenplay. Nabokov was working in the Russian Department of Cornell University at the time and one of the letters is one their headed papers
