  <dc:description>Glass plates measuring 10"x 8" featuring African landscapes which were used to produce the backdrops for the Dawn of Man sequence. Called front projection, or retroreflective matting, this system was used instead of standard techniques such as backdrops or back-projection as these did not produce a result that looked realistic enough. </dc:description>
