Hynos Toothpaste Advertisement Materials relating to the designing of the Hynos Toothpaste advertisements which features a smiling face. The advert was used as a billboard in two locations on the film sets. The file consists of one research photograph showing a busy Vietnamese road junction with billboards in the background including two displays for Hynos toothpaste. One polaroid photograph (colour) of a sketch of the smiling black man's face [probably drawn by a member of the art department as the design for the billboard set dressing] and one photocopy of a sketch design for the billboard which resembles the research photograph. The sketch also has written in blue felt pen the bnumber of colours to be used in different sections of the billboard and the size of the sections. There is also a photograph of recreated billboard on set at Beckton Gasworks, with other sections of the Da Nang High Street set still under construction [this photograph was originally found in SK/16/2/3/3] [1985]
