Harris, Ed[ward] The file contains a copy of a letter from Kubrick to Harris regarding the part of Sergeant Gerheim that appears to have accompanied a script copy as there is a note asking Harris not to show it to anyone, 7 Feb 1985. The name Gerheim is as the character is named in the novel, The Short Timers, the name was changed to Hartman [ie the drill instructor].
