[In Jan 1938 Thorold Dickinson went to Spain with fellow director Sidney Cole to research possibilities for making a film about Spain under the Spanish Republic during the threat of fascism.  The result was the co-directorship of two films: 'Spanish ABC' and 'Behind the Spanish Lines' for the Progressive Film Institute, though Dickinson had more input with 'Spanish ABC'.]</dc:description>
