  <dc:title>Letters</dc:title>
<dc:description>One item is a memo advertising that, due to Thorold Dickinson's impending retirement in Sept 1971, the Film Studies Department at The Slade School of Art is looking for a new 'Director of Film Studies'. The memo advertises the vacancy with a description of what the position entails, including the salary scale. Some of the duties involved include working with the 'Historical Film Catalogue' [now the BUFVC National Film Register] which Dickinson created, hosting seminars, and collating the programme notes for the courses. It also contains a letter to Dickinson from Brian Finney, dated 15 Sep 1971, asking him to teach a course on film, despite his retirement. There is also a set of four letters from the Association of University Teachers, 16 Dec 1970 - 15 Jan 1971, regarding minutes of meetings and salary scales.</dc:description>
