| Description | The file contains two items designed by Bawden: a dust jacket for Ambrose Heath's Good Drinks, 1950 in dark sage and blue. The front cover features a wine rack on which is a glass of spirits and a flower and next to which is a corkscrew, on the back cover are sliced citrus fruits, strawberries and an ear of wheat. The design is a linoleum cut; and a Christmas card, 1952, on the front is a royal icing cake on which the message Christmas message is typed and under which is sign David Bland, a figure is flying a swan in the air and the cake sits on a spotted cloth, on the back are abstract shapes and a figure. Inside is a table set for Christmas, with animated victuals for example, a smiling dancing salt shaker. All the designs are in rust, matte line, white and purple. Printed by, Westerham Press. |
