DescriptionThis folder contains material relating to Dickinson's employment at the the United Nations, such as expenses forms, letters of appointment, pension papers, and a five page telegram reporting Dickinson's new appointment, with some biographical information. It contains biographical notes written by Dickinson, letter from Dickinson to Alfred Katzin regarding the possibility of Dickinson taking charge of the Film Section of the Department of Public Information, Katzin's reply stating they are considering his employment, and a letter to Dickinson from Ernest [Lindgren] with attached letter of recommendation to George Ivan Smith, stating why Lindgren believes Dickinson is highly qualified for the position. Their is also a goodbye letter to Dickinson from Bill, and letters welcoming Dickinson to the U. N., one of which Ivan Smith writes in response to Dickinson's initial thoughts for action and the potential of cinema and its techniques.
