ActivitySaul Bass (May 8, 1920 - April 25, 1996) was a graphic designer and Academy Award-winning filmmaker, best known for his design on animated motion picture title sequences. He had previously designed the title sequence for Kubrick's Spartacus, created a title sequence for 2001: A Space Odyssey which was not used in the final version, and created the original poster for The Shining.

Saul Bass owned the Design Company, Bass Yager and Associates (originally called Saul Bass & Associates). Following Saul Bass' death in 1996, Bass Yager was merged with Lloyd Northover, the Design Consultancy owned by John Lloyd and Jim Northover.
