DescriptionPublished by McSweeney's Books, the book is a hardback edition of Green's comic 'Binky Brown Meets the Holy Virgin Mary' which was originally published in 1972. The comic itself has been printed to maintain an unedited look as the paper has an off-yellow tone which highlights where correction fluid has been used to change text and imagery. The book also features an introduction by Art Spiegelman and an afterword by Green which features accompanying illustrations. The book's cover is black and contains engraving and foiling techniques. In addition to the gold foiling, further colouring is added as a colour image of the original comic book's cover is stuck onto the front of the book; this is placed over the image of a cross. Imagery surrounding this is suggestive of the religious parody of the comic. This is repeated on the back cover which additionally contains an image of the titular character on his knees.
