Description | This collection contains garments, accessories and ephemera from the wardrobe of Francis Golding. The garments present a good range of Golding’s life and feature key individual British made or designed menswear clothing. The collection largely consists of suits, overcoats, trousers, shirts, shoes, knitwear and accessories. The collection also contains papers, photos and related ephemera.
Designers represented in the collection include but are not limited to; Issey Miyake, Crolla, Missoni, Paul Smith, Connolly, Guaglianone and Timothy Everest.

Individual or organisational biography | Francis Golding (28 January 1944 - 08 November 2013), was a leading architectural, planning and conservation consultant. He worked for the Ministry of Public Buildings, the Department of the Environment, English Heritage, and the Royal Fine Art Commission before becoming a townscape consultant advising architects, town planners, etc.
Golding tragically died after a cycling accident in Holborn, London, in 2013. He had accumulated a significant sized wardobe of menswear clothing, including a mix of everyday wear, and formal designer clothing. |
