DescriptionThis series comprises production materials relating to the short fantasy drama 'The Zip' (1987), written by Michel Parry, directed by Jo Ann Kaplan, and starring Denis Lawson. Further details of the film are as follows: an 11-minute running time, shot on 35mm, produced in association with British Screen and Film Four International. The film was selected for, and received awards at, a number of international festivals, including the Prix du Meilleur Court Métrage at the Festival du Film Fantastique, Brussels, in 1989.

The collection includes handwritten notes, scripts, and shot lists. Additional material comprises promotional posters; a letter from the Sydney Film Festival concerning audience responses; and a certificate acknowledging the film’s selection for the festival. Also included are a Film Four International poster for The Zip; a Grand Prix Award summary for Best Short Film, awarded in 1989 at the Brussels International Film Festival of Fantasy and Science Fiction Films; a Hot Snatches review of the film; screening programmes from the London and New York Film Festivals detailing screenings of The Zip; a congratulatory letter from Gigi Etienne and Cécile De Greef on behalf of the Brussels International Film Festival; and a copy of a letter addressed to Channel 4.
