Kubrick wrote to Douglas, 8 Feb 1963, regarding Douglas' forthcoming project 'Seven Days in May' calling it a 'marvellous story' but making some suggestions as to the characterisation. There is a reply, 19 Feb 1963, thanking Kubrick and asking about his law suit with 'Fail Safe' and suggesting they do a comedy together.
