Description | Portfolio sketchbook by Victoria Anderson, with text, paintings, sketches, and fabrics. The book consists largely of different fabrics with patterns either dyed or sewn onto them, or fabrics rolled up and glued onto the page forming spiral patterns. There are also paintings that look similar to some of the fabrics and textures throughout the book, as well as a few basic sketches.
There are also two pages of text, handwritten by Victoria, one titled 'Things I tell myself often', with seven bullet points with sentences encouraging independence and open-mindedness, and thinking about oneself in a positive way. The other text is a short statement about Victoria's personal life in a general way, and not necessarily specific to the course. Victoria writes how suggesting her life is harder than anyone else's does not feel right, the difficulties of being a single-parent to three children, a bad relationship she ended, and some of the emotional baggage she carries. She also comments on how being at university made her happy, and on the sketchbook, stating that it was hard to work on, that its contents are confused, and how she does not want to focus on past events, but to move on.
