DescriptionA collection of womenswear worn by writer Ann Barr, dating from c.1970s-80s. Many of the garments are made by Thea Porter, who was a close friend of Barr's. The collection also includes research papers and articles collected by Barr over her time as Features editor for Harpers & Queen.

There are also two boxes of notebooks, articles, and other writings, some of which might not have reached publication, including research for the book 'Official Foodie Handbook'. Five ring binders of letters donated 04/11/13 by Sue Rowe, former assistant to Ann Barr at Harpers.

Individual or organisational biographyIsabel Ann Barr (16 September 1929 – 4 May 2015) was a British journalist and writer involved in coining the terms 'Sloane Rangers' and 'Foodies' in the early 1980s. Barr was born in London and grew up in Mayfair and Belgravia.
