| Description | Material on Fortunes of War. This was Betty Willingale's last production at the BBC so some correspondence also mentions congratulations and thanks on her planned retirement. One folder of information on 'Fortunes of War', including photocopies of the original BBC TV Drama Early Warning Synopses of the Serial; Also included is correspondence, mostly thankyous and congratulations regarding a screening of Fortunes of War in September 1987, and following its release. In addition are two letters, one from Betty and one draft letter from Alan Plater, regarding unfair credit for the series taken by another producer. Also one postcard from Emma Thompson. The postcard begins, 'Dearest Bet..' and continues to thank Betty for her card, and to ask for a set of tapes of 'Fortunes' [Fortunes of War], 'Neither Ken nor I managed to tape it, stupidly, & I really want to put it on my shelves & watch it again. OR, shall wait for repeats??! You know best'. |
