Title'100 Years of Homeworking', Cockpit Gallery Holborn, 13 Sep - 7 Oct 1982
DescriptionThis file contains material relating to the exhibition '100 Years of Homeworking', 1982.

There are 18 black and white transparencies of the exhibition panels; 3 copies of an A3 poster advertising, '100 Years of Homeworking 1880-1980, 13 September - 7 October' [one of the posters has been incorrectly labelled '1985' on the back, but this is the poster for the 1982 exhibition]. The poster credits the exhibition to, 'National Museum of Labour History and The Hackney Flashers Collective'. A press cutting about the exhibition from Time Out, 17 October 1982; Short texts introducing the exhibition for hire; Flyer advertising a workshop in connection with the exhibition.

Also included are 35 mm colour transparencies (in 3 strips) of an exhibition event [which exhibition includes a panel, 'Jobs for the Girls'. In conversation with Maggie Murray of the Hackney Flashers and Format photographers, this was identifed as a separate exhibition by Brenda Prince, another photographer from Format Collective. The exhibition was called 'Jobs for the Girls' and it was at the North Paddington Community Darkroom]. The negatives appear to have been filed here due to a similar theme of women and work.
