Title | 'Twins' |
Description | This series contains a collection of photographic prints and contact sheets (primarily in black and white, but also including a few colour/colourised prints) relating to Dick’s work on twins.
The photographs depict sets of twins of various life stages (ranging from infant to late adult), situated in various indoor and outdoor settings.
Some of the twins have been named, by surname, in handwriting on the back of the prints. These names include: ‘Cox twins’, ‘Wright twins’, ‘Yates twins’, ‘Ealott twins’, and ‘Falcon twins’. Additionally, one of the prints has been titled ‘A House of Mystery’ (1976), which depicts one set of twins, married to another set of twins (‘The Cox twins’). This image was used in an advert for New Taste Hermesetas sweeteners, also enclosed within the series.
Further uses of this project appear in another series, ‘Cuttings’ (DSS/2/1), which features an article with more information on the twins.
Also included within this series is a print from Dick's series, ‘Wrestling’ (DSS/1/8), entitled ‘Out! Out! Out!’ which shows three audience members shouting.
The series also encloses an A4 envelope labelled ‘DSS – Selected + Copies’ and ‘Twins research’, which houses a collection of photocopied newspaper articles regarding twins. |
