Title'Animals inc. Horse Fair Ire.'
DescriptionThis series contains black and white photographic prints portraying animals, and humans interacting with them. Animals depicted include birds, horses, monkeys, bears, sheep, pigs, cows, dogs, seals, giraffes, and various big cats. Some of the animals are pictured in captivity, while others have been domesticated.

One possible photograph of interest depicts an individual photographing a tiger in captivity – Dick’s exploration of voyeurism and multiple viewers is visible in his other projects (including ‘Washington Civil War Society Brinsworth House’, DSS/1/14) , as noted in the Museum of London article ‘Scenes of London: the photography of Dick Scott-Stewart’.

Some labelled prints within this collection suggest an affiliation with The Special Photographers Company gallery, of 21 Kensington Park Road, London (now permanently closed). More information on The Special Photographers Company can be found on the WayBack Machine at: https://web.archive.org/web/20230000000000*/www.specialphotographers.com
