Title | Three Hundred and Fifty-first Dinner, or 'Oxford Wayzgoose', Menu and Poem |
Description | The menu for the 351st Dinner Double Crown Club Dinner, or 'Oxford Wayzgoose', held on 25 September 1999, and a poem by Richard Garnett entitled 'The Wayzgoose'. Both the poem and the menu are printed in colour on four sides with no designer or printer indicated. The poem was composed 'In sincerest flattery of John Bell, author of 'Mutiny on the Bembo', etc. and another even greater poet' [presumably Samuel Taylor Coleridge, given the resemblence to 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner']. This item was created after Hubert Foss' death [and was probably added to the collection by his brother Christopher Foss]. |
