trajectory of Newman's practice, from her early works such as Tour (1995), Microphone Skirt, Spoon Lady, Volcano Lady, Head, especially the Connotations Performance Images 1994-1998 through to MKVH and her current projects, Common, The Gluts and The Smelly Hillock are all elucidated upon in conjunction with the importance of collaborative processes, the body, materiality and physicality in her work, identifying as a feminist and the different experiences she has had working with men and women.
