DescriptionThe music collection including cd’s, vinyl and cassettes (HN/1/2 & HN/1/5) initially grew from each of the organisers’ private collections (many items of which have been permanently donated to the archive) and then expanded upon, predominantly by Irene Revell and Emma Hedditch. The collection spans formative US and UK punk, with a strong emphasis on the Riot Grrrl scene, through to sound art, soundscape and electronica.
The collection is in no way indicative of an entire musical field but rather represents an admittedly subjective process of exploration through various musical networks and ideas.
