| Description | Primitive Streak was the first large-scale, collaborative project undertaken by Helen Storey. Working in partnership with her sister Kate Storey, a biologist, the pair designed a series of 27 dresses which represented the first 1000 hours of human life. The project was first shown in 1997 at the Wellcome Collection and was revisited for the Wellcome Trust’s 75th Anniversary in 2011, 14 years after the original exhibition. Included in this series is material relating to both the 1997 and 2011 iterations of Primitive Streak which include garment designs, research, notes, exhibition publications, examples of education and engagement activities, press material, and photographs.
