Description | Wonderland was a collaborative project between Helen Storey and scientist Tony Ryan which investigated biodegradable materials. As part of the project, Storey designed six dresses which would dissolve in water. During a month-long residency at London College of Fashion's Fashion Space Gallery, the garments were on display and visitors watched as the dresses dissolved. Alongside the residency, the project was also displayed in several other locations including Belfast and Sheffield. Included in this series are material samples of dissolving fabric, design illustrations, dress patterns, exhibition material, examples of education and engagement activities, press clippings, photographs, and audiovisual materials. The archive also includes one remaining dress from the Wonderland project, please contact us to arrange a viewing. |
