Individual or organisational biography | London Alliance of West End Cutters was founded in 1892 by J.P. Thornton, and was a professional society for cutters in the tailoring trade. "The aim of the Society is to promote the free exchange of technical information on trade subjects, through the medium of lectures and discussions, and thereby stimulate the interests of all cutters in the furtherance of their craft". Annual dinners were held and lectures given to meetings. The Alliance ceased its activities in 1987. |
