Cooper was a member from 1973, left in 1974 and had re-joined by 1975. From 1977 Lindsay Cooper acted as one of the principle composers. She contributed to their final album, Western Culture (1978), before the group split up the same year. Cooper began playing soprano saxophone and piano during this time. It is believed the group enabled and inspired her to experiment with new ideas, contributing to her development as a musician. |
