DescriptionThree letters from Margaret McGaughey to Phillip Knightley. In the first letter dated 27 August she updates him on her progress in which she mentions her discovery of a book at Columbia Journalism Library that has all 335 Civil War correspondents listed out. Second letter recaps her encounter with Burnet Hershey and is dated 29 August 1968. McGaughey also mentions that the New York Times claim to not know who is covering Vietnam for them whilst the US Department of Defense has been very helpful. Contains underlining in red ink. The third letter is a carbon copy of Knightley's response including his interest in the College reporter circuit in Vietnam and in having McGaughey draft a piece on Peter Arnett and is dated 4 September 1968.
