Description | The cablesmainly relate to the reception of the film in Italy and Amsterdam [noted as outstanding] and ticket sales. There are also logistical cables.
In the same file are inter-office communications covering all aspects of daily operations, especially distribution and publicity. For example, to all field representatives from Roger Caras, 10 Feb 1964 an information bulletin with details of Slim Pickins appearance in 'Playboy'.
Of note in the file is a handwritten letter from Ken Adam to Stanley and Christiana Kubrick, 22 Aug 1964 [air mail paper, delicate] in which he refers to working on James Bond [Thunderball] and how he would like to work with Kubrick again [commenting that his next project, 2001: A Space Odyssey, is too soon for him to be involved in it]. He also talks about his current project the 'Ipcress File' [released 1965] for example, commenting on the problems with the script. There are references to Harry throughout [probably, Harry Saltzman who produced the 'Ipcress File' and many of the Bond films].
