TitleThe Who
DescriptionBetween 1965 and 1966, Colin Jones photographed English rock music band The Who at the start of their careers. Jones took photographs of young Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon, whilst on-stage (at The Locarno in Stevenage and Jigsaw Club in Manchester), at recording sessions with Kit Lambert for their album My Generation (IBC Studios at Portland Place), out shopping (Just Men on Kingsland Road) and in their own homes. Jones was initially asked to take the band’s official photographs for their first American tour; however, he was not interested in doing celebrity photography as such and instead sought to capture the band members in their intimate, everyday lives.

Material is comprised of a selection of photographs from this period.
