TitleFiftieth Dinner Invitation, Menu and Commemorative Portfolio and 'A Printer's Epitaph'
DescriptionThe invitation and menu for the 50th Double Crown Club Dinner, with a commemorative portfolio and 'A Printer's Epitaph'. The fiftieth dinner was chaired by Holbrook Jackson and held in the tenth year of the club's existence on 9 October 1935 at the Cafe Royal.

The invitation, printed at the Fanfare Press, includes details of the date, location and price of the dinner, as well as the dates of the nest two dinners and the next Annual General Meeting.

The menu, which had been stored inside the portfolio, was designed by Oliver Simon and printed at the Curwen Press. It is printed on six sides and lists, in red and blue ink, the clubs members at the time of both the first and fiftieth dinners. It also contains an extensive quotation about the club, which is attributed to 'Jas. Boswell', who was disclosed during the dinner to be Hamish Miles.

The portfolio was designed and printed by JH Mason at the Central School of Arts and Crafts, London. It was given out to club members in celebration of Club 'Jubilee' (the fiftieth dinner) and was intended for the storage of any menus and invatation cards kept by members. It consists of a single folded sheet printed on two sides.

'A Printer's Epitaph', written by himself in 1727, in printed on both sides of a single folded sheet of brown paper and was presented 'In Commemoration of the 50th Dinner of the Double Crown Club' by Carl Z Haeggstrom of Upsala, Sweden.
