TitleThe Map
DescriptionA thought map sketched by hand on the back of two used A4 pages (HN/2/4/3) of possible artists to include in the exhibition. It creates unusual groupings and connections and highlights the curators interests in uncovering and forging networks of connection and influence.

The Map represents an important stage in the production of the Her Noise program, described as a subjective ‘tangled cartography’, by Anne Hilde Neset, a ‘A mishmash of names, inexplicably interlinked with a complicated structure of lines and boxes…’(see Anne Hilde Neset's article 'Tangled Cartography: The Mapping of Her Noise Refno:___). A graphic interpretation of the map forms the design for the cover of the exhibition catalogue. The curators began initially jotting down names in 2001 but a suggestion was made by Irene Revell to add the names of Barbara Ess and Ludus and possibly others in 2005.
